Procter & Gamble/Gillette Hayden Memorial Foundation Research Scholarship Award

The Procter and Gamble/Gillette Hayden Memorial Foundation Research Award will be presented to a dentist (DDS/DMD) who has shown academic distinction and demonstrates a history of excellence in research (or mentor with documented research background) related to women’s health or women’s oral health. A strong background in research is suggested. Applicant must be a current, AAWD national member or join by sending in the AAWD membership application with their Procter and Gamble Research Scholarship application materials.

Colgate Research Scholarship

This is a monetary award ($500) was established in 1980 to salute and encourage students to excel in the field of research. This award is presented to 10 junior and/or senior dental students who have shown academic distinction and demonstration of excellence in research.

Awards Deadline: Friday, March 16, 2012. Notices sent to schools in December 2011.

Gillette Hayden Memorial Foundation

AAWD’s Gillette Hayden Memorial Fund is a loan program for Junior/Senior and Graduate degree students of up to $2,000 per year.

Eleanor J. Bushee Memorial Award

This award was renamed in 1998 in honor of Dr. Eleanor J. Bushee, whose personal and professional accomplishments include being past president of AAWD, a professor of pediatrics and orthodontics, an assistant dean, an author and a pilot. Accordingly, this award was established to recognize a senior dental student who is an AAWD member and has demonstrated outstanding leadership and academic excellence. Recipients are selected by the school’s Dean, Faculty Advisor or Woman Liaison Officer.
